Let us create a show case of school-based enterprises.

FEBDEV takes the initiative to reward those institutions that excel in the implementation of entrepreneurship projects - regardless of the resources (or lack thereof!). We take the hands of other excellent service providers in the field of enterprise education and tell the success stories.

FEBDEV would like to introduce an open showcase gala event in the form of an annual competition with appropriate prizes for (1) institutions, (2) facilitators and (3) learner entries. The Hands-On Prize competition is an integral part of the Hands-On Enterprise Programme.

One type of enterprise initiative will be celebrated every year. Hands-On Market (Market Days) will be the focus of 2001.

Criteria will be made known to schools that register. The emphasis will fall on actual implementation at the school.

In the case of the INSTITUTION aspects like community involvement, improvement of school climate and innovation within the school's context will be taken into consideration. All participating schools should submit an implementation report for the Hands-On Prize competition.

In the case of the EDUCATOR our panel will look at facilitation skills and organisational expertise. The management of the institution and learners will nominate the educator.

LEARNERS' entries will be judged on merit and one learner per institution may be nominated by the project leader (educator) at the school.
